Another show on Poplie Radio is now history. Last night we had a special extended 4-hour show and managed to include dozens of new artists (mostly from L.A. this time). The funny thing is, we actually run out of time in the end (still had 5-6 more tracks we wanted to air). Guess we need to seriously consider adding another timeslot during the week (for our 5 dedicated fans!). Until then, stay tuned here and see ya next time! Another Music Blast from our new MP3s for you. It seems like we are getting more and more music these days (hopefully we'll be able to handle it)!

Robert Chuch & The Holy Community are a lo fi pop band from Sweden (typical). They are now releasing a cassete-only album (titled Los Tres De Canarias) from a small label in Michigan (Fox Pop). They are a mix of Casiotone and Swedish pop, so of'course we couldn't resist posting it. Good stuff for starting off the weekend!

Sad news as it seems...The Californian punkers Mika Miko are calling it a day according to the Los Angeles Times (confirmed by their record label). The root of the problem seems to be "returns to school, new projects, jobs and relationships". Sounds like these youth are giving up simply because they are growing up. A real pitty...

Belated as ever, I just found this site which is inspired by the Take Away Shows series of LaBlogotheque. It is called Athens Soundies [hey hey...copyright issues? :-)] and features lo-fi videos from indie bands. It is pretty cool so check it out. I've chosen two videos for you, one from the amazing Warpaint and another from Acrylics. Enjoy!

This is a new post series, obviously called Music Blast. Every now and then, we will post some free songs for you from various new and upcoming bands. Hopefully some of them will shine through!

This is another of those bands that we are lucky to be contacted by. The Idyllists are from Los Angeles (seems like we host a lot of California bands these days...perhaps we are influenced by Californication?) although they sound much more british (in a good way). Their influences are definetly britpop with high resemblance to the Smiths. Beautiful happy tunes and melodies with pure pop elements and straightforward tunes that really stay with you. I'm suprised how these guys haven't made it big yet...but guess you never know when this will change (hopefully soon). Enjoy!

So I finally saw this one (been looking for the movie for months). To be honest I expected it a bit better but nevertheless I enjoyed it. Cool music, Zooey Deschanel and romance with a twist..what else do you need for a light comedy? Of'course the ending may put some people off (you've been warned) but the music and the close ups of Zooey were pretty much enough for me.

One of our favorite Swedish (what else) bands is almost ready to release a new album. Sambassadeur are back on the studio and have almost finished recording their tracks, which are due in January on Labrador (again what else) label. Until then, enjoy their new (and free) track Days!

Our show last night (Sunday) as usual from 20.00 till 22.00 on Poplie Radio was one of our best so far. The music was far better than we expected and the crowd (all 5 of them) was more than pleased. What a shame so many people missed the Beyoncé concert and stayed home just for our show. It was sure worth it though. See you all on our next live session!
