2008's Top 100 Albums [70 - 61]
We are getting nearer to the top 50 albums of this Top 100 albums of 2008 list. Things are finally getting better but still the quality is miles away from past years. I have to admit I've spent most of this year listening to 2007 tracks...
70. Black Kids - Partie TraumaticOver-hyped, over-blogged...the album was kind of a let-down but still they taught us how to dance..
69. Dr. Dog - FateAnother album found in most people's lists higher up yet I never managed to listen to it more than a few times (although it is worth more)
68. Tindersticks - The Hungry SawMy love for Tindersticks is quite well known, so they couldn't be left out of my list, although this certainly wasn't up to their previous class
67. Miaou - All Around UsPost-rock all the way from Japan and straight into my list
66. The Raveonettes - Lust Lust LustI'm not sure (again) if this is 2008 or 2007..this album lacked the hits of their previous work but was a much better album in general
65. Tricky - Knowle West BoyTricky is back with solid work with his own style...far better than any work Massive have produced the last years
64. Times New Viking - Rip It OffOne of the best lo-fi punk bands around from a scene that outshined any other genre this year
63. Blood Red Shoes - Box of SecretsThe British answer to White Stripes...they may lack in quality and depth yet their fresh sound and spirit more than makes up for it
62. My Brightest Diamond - A Thousand Shark's TeethRock and classic music clash in an album that I loved until halfway...her voice is just mesmerizing and if she could just rock a bit more it could have easily risen into my top 20
61. Atlas Sound - Let the Blind Lead Those Who Can See but Cannot FeelAnother indie debut which for me leaves hope for much better thins in the future
69. Dr. Dog - FateAnother album found in most people's lists higher up yet I never managed to listen to it more than a few times (although it is worth more)
