2008's Top 100 Albums [80 - 71]
I guess this countdown is going slower than I though, but I have to be consistent and finish the task. Perhaps I should have stacked to the original plan and only do a Top 20...too late now, so on we go with our Top 100 Albums!
80. Talkdemonic - Eyes at Half MastThis duo has a unique style in post-rock which it continues to progress in this third outtake
79. Grand Archives - The Grand ArchivesOne of the first reviews we did here in Athens66, this debut showed a lot of potential
78. School of Seven Bells - AlpinismsA lot will argue about placing this dream-pop debut so low...but this list is personal so...
77. Department of Eagles - In Ear ParkAnother solid album that just didn't win me over
76. Beach House - DevotionDreamy lo-fi indie, hailed by many...others
75. Maybeshewill - Not for Want of TryingInspiring post-rock which (amongst others) I just didn't give enough time to (otherwise it would have been higher up the list)..
74. Q-Tip - The RenaissanceThe genius behind Tribe Called Quest finally returned after 6 years with some cool tunes
73. Pas/Cal - I Was Raised on Matthew, Mark, Luke & LauraThe pop debut from this Detroit band was one of the more refreshing surprises of the year
72. I'm from Barcelona - Who Killed Harry Houdini? The Swedish collectiva is back and while not adding much to their debut it still was a joy
71. Ra Ra Riot - The Rhumb LineAfter a long long wait they have finally released their debut which however seems slightly late..
